Using the Properties Panel With the Document Canvas

You can edit the properties of your document in the Properties panel. When the Document canvas is active, the Properties panel displays a list of properties that you can modify.

For example, you change the output format from the type that you may have selected in the HTML/Document Wizard. You can also modify the size of a page, the page orientation, you can add bookmarks, and give each page, including the table of contents page, a title and description.

Procedure: How to Add a Template to a Document
  1. On the Home tab, in the Content group, click HTML/Document.

    The HTML/Document Wizard opens

  2. For File Type, select Document.
  3. Click Next.
  4. In the Output Format list, choose either Power Point PPT or Power Point PPTX.

    The Document canvas opens.

  5. In the Properties panel, click the drop-down list at the top, and then click Compound document.

    Note: When using a PPT or PPTX template in a document, the template must be specified at the document level, and not just the component level.

  6. Click the ellipsis button next to the Template Name property.

    The Open File dialog box opens.

  7. Navigate to the template, and click OK.
