The InfoDiscovery Workbench enables you to build interactive data visualizations. As a thin-client data discovery tool, the InfoDiscovery Workbench offers a rich HTML5 chart library and an auto-layout canvas.

With the InfoDiscovery Workbench, you can do the following:

You can update, change, or revise your visualization at any time to account for shifts in data needs. Multiple charts, graphs, maps, and other visualization styles can be combined into analytic visualizations and interactive InfoApps™ to help drive data discovery. Analysts can then publish these and share with all users via the web and mobile devices.

Procedure: How to Launch the InfoDiscovery Workbench
  1. Right-click a domain folder, point to New, and click Visualization.

    The Tool Setup dialog box opens. It provides options for selecting a Reporting Server and Application Paths.

    Note: User access to the Tool Setup dialog box to specify Reporting Server properties is controlled by a WebFOCUS security privilege. For information on WebFOCUS security privileges, see the WebFOCUS Security and Administration manual.

  2. Select a Reporting Server and Application Paths, and click OK.

    The InfoDiscovery Workbench opens.

  3. Select a data source you want to use.
    • Select your Master File and click Open.
    • Click Connect to Data. The Configure Connections pane opens. Here you can configure a Data Adapter to connect to an existing database.
    • Click Upload File. The Upload pane opens. Here you can upload spreadsheets.

    The data now appears in the Data pane, and you can begin to build a visualization.
