With a Self-Service installation in WebFOCUS 8, the schedules, distribution lists, access lists, and library content created by users are stored in the WebFOCUS repository. They are displayed in folders in the tree when you sign in to WebFOCUS. The folders in the tree are real folders that must be created before you can store content in them.
Note: If you migrate ReportCaster content from a previous release of WebFOCUS, folders will be created by the migration process to hold the migrated schedules, distribution lists, access lists, and library content. You can continue to use these folders after migration to create new ReportCaster content. For more information, see the WebFOCUS Migration manual.
Once a folder is created, you can launch the Advanced Scheduling tool by right-clicking on the folder. Select the New option and then click Schedule to launch the tool. Another way to launch the scheduler is through a schedule button on a report launch page.
The purpose of the following process is to define the steps that you will need to follow in order to create a schedule in a Self-Service installation.
Note: You will need access to a number of manuals to complete this process. These manuals include: WebFOCUS Security and Administration, Business Intelligence Portal, ReportCaster, and WebFOCUS Migration. The various Developer Studio manuals, including Application Development Getting Started, Creating Report Applications with Developer Studio, Describing Data with Graphical Tools, and Creating Financial Reports may be referenced, as well.
The Advanced Scheduling tool displays, as shown in the following image.
Authorized users will be able to launch the scheduling tool from a folder to create a schedule. For more information on security, see the WebFOCUS Security and Administration manual.
