When this option is selected from the menu (File | Publish
Dashboard), the main toolbar () or from the Task View (Step 4:
Share Results | Publish Dashboard), the Publish to Dashboard dialog
box is displayed. In this dialog box:
- Select the page(s) to be published.
- Enter a server designation in the Server Address field.
Note: WebFOCUS
Visual Discovery Server AE must be installed on an IIS server. Note
that the default location for installation of the server is http://www.<server name
where WebFOCUS Visual Discovery Server AE is installed>/adv.
- Enter a designation in the Dashboard Name field.
- Indicate if you wish to:
- allow project export. This
option allows viewers of published dashboards to download a copy
of the project file for offline viewing of the published dashboard in
WebFOCUS Visual Discovery.
- allow data export to comma delimited (.csv) or tab delimited
(.txt) formats from the published page.
- embed data.
- Optionally, you can:
- publish the dashboard into an existing
server template (a checkmark should appear in the Publish into an
existing server template field). You can create your own unique
server template and publish dashboards using that template. Enter a
template name or click Browse to locate a
template.
- select Data Integration to select an
.aspx page to create a custom page that can be written to a database,
sent to a URL, etc. This is described in more detail in the Publishing
to the WebFOCUS Visual Discovery Server link below.
- Click Next.
- Select the destination for the dashboard from the list of Project
Folders.
- Click Finish.
- WebFOCUS Visual Discovery publishes the dashboard to the server.
Once a page is published, a message box containing the URL where
that page was published on the server.
