In addition to WebFOCUS procedures and text files, WebFOCUS
Visual Discovery Workbench AE and WebFOCUS Visual Discovery Server
AE can load data from the following types of databases:
- Microsoft Excel (XLS,
XLSX) (not through ODBC)
- Microsoft Access
(not through ODBC)
- SalesForce.com (except
Server AE)
- Microsoft SQL Server
(Version 7.0 or higher)
- Oracle (Version 9i
or higher)
- ODBC interfaces to
databases:
- Microsoft ODBC for
Oracle - MSORCL32.DLL
- Microsoft SQL Server
- SQLSRV32.DLL
- Pervasive drivers:
- Pervasive ODBC Client
Interface - W3ODBCCI.DLL
- Pervasive ODBC Engine Interface - W3ODBCEI.DLL
- MySQL driver:
- MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver
- MYODBC3.DLL (MyODBC-3.51.11-2-win.msi when used with MySQL version
mysql-essential-4.1.13-win32.msi).
No other ODBC drivers are supported.
Note:
- If you are loading
data from WebFOCUS procedures or text files, ensure Network Service
permissions are granted to the folder where the specific WebFOCUS procedure
or text file is located.
- Before you use a
text file across a network, ensure that a UNC path for a mapped drive
or directory is configured first. This will allow the text file
to be accessed properly by WebFOCUS Visual Discovery Workbench AE
and WebFOCUS Visual Discovery Server AE, especially when these products
are installed on separate systems.
- WebFOCUS procedure
data sources will not work within a Single Sign-On (SSO) environment.
- ODBC connections
must be defined as System DSNs through Windows Control Panel prior
to using them in WebFOCUS Visual Discovery AE.
- Ensure that data streams immediately to Visual Discovery AE
projects or dashboards. A pause between requesting data and its
subsequent return, results in a timeout error.
