Sharing Schedules

How to:

Using the Security Center, you can share schedules with authorized users.

Note: By default, Group Administrators can share schedules. Other users can do so with the appropriate privileges. For more information, see the WebFOCUS Security and Administration manual.

Procedure: How to Share Schedules

From the tree, you can share one or more schedules by performing the following steps.

  1. In the tree, select one or more Schedules that you want to share.
  2. Right-click the selected schedule or schedules and select Share.

    If you are a group administrator or user with the share schedule privilege, the schedule or schedules are shared. The Schedule icon changes to denote that it is shared.

Procedure: How to Share Schedules With Specific Groups or Users

From the tree, you can specify the groups or users with whom you want to share the selected schedule or schedules.

  1. In the tree, select one or more schedules that you want to share.
  2. Right-click the selected schedule or schedules and select Share with.

    The Set Sharing dialog box displays, as shown in the following image.

  3. Use the left and right arrow buttons to select which Groups will have access to Schedules.
  4. Use the left and right arrow buttons to select which Users will have access to Schedules.
  5. Click OK.

Procedure: How to Set Rules for Schedules

From the tree, you can set security for Schedules at any time by performing the following steps.

  1. In the tree, select the schedule for which you want to set security.
  2. Right-click the selected schedule and select Security and then Rules.

    The Security Rules dialog box displays, as shown in the following image.

  3. Click the Group you would like to include in the Rule for the schedule.

    The Roles appear below.

  4. Select the Roles you would like to include in the Rule for the schedule.
  5. Choose the Privilege level in the Access drop-down list.

    Options include:

    • Not Set. Access is not specifically set. Access is determined by inherited rules.
    • Permitted. Allows the functionality of the selected role as specified in the Apply To drop-down list. You can select FOLDER_AND_CHILDREN, FOLDER_ONLY, or CHILDREN_ONLY in the Apply To drop-down list.
    • Denied. Denies the functionality of the selected role at the level specified in the Apply To drop-down list. You can select FOLDER_AND_CHILDREN, FOLDER_ONLY, or CHILDREN_ONLY in the Apply To drop-down list.
    • Over Permitted. Overrides a Denied access level to allow the functionality of the selected Role at the level as specified in the Apply To drop-down list. You can select FOLDER_AND_CHILDREN, FOLDER_ONLY, or CHILDREN_ONLY in the Apply To drop-down list.
    • Clear Inheritance. Erases all previously defined rules for the selected Role at the level specified in the Apply To drop-down list. You can select FOLDER_AND_CHILDREN, FOLDER_ONLY, or CHILDREN_ONLY in the Apply To drop-down list.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click OK.
