Once you have installed App
Studio, you can launch the product and begin developing applications.
You can launch App Studio in one of the following ways:
-
Start your Reporting Server and then launch App Studio. If
you have installed a stand-alone version of App Studio, or a stand-alone
Reporting Server for use with WebFOCUS, you can start your Reporting
Server before launching App Studio.
-
Stand-alone App Studio. From
the Start menu, expand the Information Builders program group, expand
the WebFOCUS 81 App Studio folder, and expand the WebFOCUS 81 Server
for App Studio folder. Select Start Security OFF to
start the Reporting Server without security, or Start
Security ON to start the Reporting Server securely.
The Reporting Server opens a command window. Once the process is complete,
launch App Studio.
-
Stand-alone Reporting Server. From the Start menu, expand
the Information Builders program group, and expand the WebFOCUS
81 Server folder. Select Start Security OFF to
start the Reporting Server without security, or Start
Security ON to start the Reporting Server securely.
The Reporting Server opens a command window. Once the process is
complete, launch App Studio.
Note: Additional configuration steps are required if you
choose to start the Reporting Server with Security ON. For more
information, see the WebFOCUS App Studio Installation and
Configuration Guide.
When App Studio first opens, you might be prompted to log on
to your localhost environment. You can enter the ID, wfdesktop,
with no password, so you can follow the Navigating the App Studio
Interface chapter of this manual.
Note: If you have previously configured WebFOCUS environments
on your machine, those environments appear when you launch App Studio.
