Positioning Objects and Keyboard Shortcuts

Align positioning options enable you to multi-select objects and easily position them relative to one another. These options are available from the Positioning toolbar in Document Composer.

Note: These options only apply to positioning objects in the Design View of Document Composer.

The following Align options appear on the Positioning Toolbar:

Object	Function
	The Align to center of page positioning option aligns objects at the horizontal center point of the canvas in Design View.
	The Align to middle of page positioning option aligns objects at their vertical center (or middle) point of the canvas in Design View.
	The Align to left edge positioning option aligns objects to the left margin of the bounding rectangle in Design View.
	The Align to right edge positioning option aligns objects to the right margin of the bounding rectangle in Design View.
	The Align to top edge positioning option aligns objects to the top margin of the bounding rectangle in Design View.
	The Align to bottom edge positioning option aligns objects to the bottom margin of the bounding rectangle in Design View.
	All options under this icon position elements relative to the page.
	Changes the width of the first selected object to the width of the second selected object.
	Changes the height of the first selected object to the height of the second selected object.
	Changes the height and width of the first selected object to the height and width of the second selected object.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The following keyboard shortcuts are available in Document Composer:

For positioning objects relative to the page, press the Alt key and select an Align option button from the Positioning toolbar.
For page related shortcuts, you may use the Home and End keys to quickly navigate to the beginning and end of the document.
