National Language Support
The following are upgrade considerations
and product changes for National Language Support:
- The default server
code page on Windows has been changed from code page 437 to code
page 1252, which conforms to the Microsoft default code page for
English and certain Western European languages.
- The language selection
list entries are displayed in the language they describe. This affects
the WebFOCUS sign-in page and the Dashboard language drop-down lists.
The language selection list entries in the Dynamic Language Switch
panel of the WebFOCUS Administration Console are displayed in the
session language. For example, if the Administration Console was
launched in French, then Dynamic Language Switch panel entries are
displayed in French.
- WebFOCUS Release
8.1 Version 05 uses Tomcat version 8. In Tomcat version 8, the
default URI encoding is UTF- 8. If you installed WebFOCUS Release
8.1 Version 05 with Tomcat version 8 and you want to use a Latin
1 client configuration, you must change the URI encoding in Tomcat
from UTF-8 to 8859-1 (Latin 1). Note that the Latin 1 configuration
has a known limitation: NLS characters are not supported in folder
or file names for drill down in HTML documents.
